Sailing a 45' classic wooden yacht from Sydney down to Hobart. Cruise is part of an organised 'cruise in company' organised by a group of us from the CYCA (Cruising Yacht Club of Australia).
The yacht I am crewing on Caprice of Huon:
"Launched in 1951, this beautiful Huon Pine sloop, under her original owner, represented Australia at the 1965 and 1967 Admiral's Cup's. Was part of the winning Australian team of 67 and finished 2nd overall in the 1972 Hobart with Gordon Ingate at the helm."
We are watching the weather closely as we want to head off to Eden with a NE wind rather than beating into a Southerly. Forecast suggests we will be off on Tuesday morning expecting to get to Eden Wednesday afternoon. Then we will watch the weather to pick the best time to make the run across Bass Strait. Then onto Wine Glass Bay, then Hobart.
